Kenton Sefcik, Dip.Ac, Dip.TCM, R.Ac.
My passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine began at age 14, when I began studying Kung-Fu.
I graduated from the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 2007 with a Diploma in Acupuncture and an honorary diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Upon successfully passing the Alberta acupuncture board examinations, I moved to Nova Scotia to open a practice and teach.
Since 2007, my career has included clinical practice, teaching, professional development, and continuing study in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Clinical Practice & Japanese Acupuncture
From 2021 to 2024, I completed a three-year apprenticeship in Haruo Matsumoto/Alexander Audette Deep Tissue Lymphatic Japanese Acupuncture (DTLA).
This training has become an important part of my continuing development as an acupuncturist and complements my broader training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.
My clinical approach is grounded in individualized assessment and treatment, with careful attention to the individual presentation of each patient.

These presentations have included seminars for the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia, AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas, and the Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia Naturopathic Conferences.

My professional education and clinical experience have continued to develop throughout my career, with particular emphasis on individualized acupuncture treatment and Japanese acupuncture.
Today
I currently practice acupuncture at SMART Healing Centre in Garlands Crossing, Nova Scotia, serving patients from Windsor and surrounding communities in the Annapolis Valley.
My practice is focused on providing individualized acupuncture treatment, with an emphasis on chronic pain, mobility and musculoskeletal concerns, and women's health.
Each patient is assessed individually, and treatment is developed according to the person's presentation, symptoms, and response to treatment.
